
Located at the western end of Inniscarra Parish, the Dripsey area was always a hotbed for Gaelic games but since the start of the decade a noticeable decline in interest and participation was very evident. Concerned at the high rate of dropout and non participation, six young men from the area, who were then members of the Inniscarra club, decided to do something to get the youth of the area interested in Gaelic games again. THE ROAD TO CROKE PARK
Training started at the end of January with the initial weeks spent building up our physical fitness. Willie Buckley took charge of the sessions and the response from the players was fantastic. Around this time Canovee won the All Ireland Junior Football Final and this set peoples minds thinking about how much could be achieved by a small local club. More here
Ladies Football
The idea of a ladies club first came about in 2007 when John Feeney raised the idea with Claire Feeney. A meeting, chaired by Claire Feeney and Lucy Kelleher, was subsequently held in the Community Centre. More here
